Don't think so- but it has open doors and great ventilation
My favorite place in southern California. Not only is the food delicious. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is very welcoming. They do get REALLY busy in the evening and To-Go orders can take a while, but everyone I talk to while waiting feels it's worth the wait. To that end, I recommend dining in.
Extremely unsanitary! Went to the bathroom and server that was serving us was wearing his apron, lifted it up, touch his private parts, peed and went right back to work. Gross!
Usually love coming here, but the last time we came, we were told it would be a 45 minute wait for four people. Over an hour and a half later, the waitress has continued to push people who missed their name being called in front of us. We're only ordering takeout from here on out. I recommend everyone else do the same
Very pleasant restaurant that serves Thai, Cambodian, and Vietnamese food. They don't take reservations for small tables and there is usually a wait. The food is very good and the staff is helpful and friendly. It's a little loud, but otherwise a very nice restaurant in Leucadia.
This place has some of the healthiest most tasteful food in leucadia. Although, a common denominator of disappointing experiences there is a lack of awareness and attention from the staff, to a customer. Keeping waters refilled and remembering the small supplementary requests would be a world of difference for a restaurant experience. If they could just nail that one down this place would be AMAZING!
Located not too far from the 5 freeway, I detoured here in the midst of traffic on a Saturday early afternoon to have lunch. Open seating, but only 1 waitress working at the time so things were moving slower than I'd like, but I totally understand.I ordered the beef pho ($10) and it was very plain. The broth lacked flavor, the pieces of beef were large and in small chunks, which I wasn't use to since I prefer thinly sliced beef in my pho. Thank goodness for the super fresh bean sprouts.I had a few bites of the pad see ew ($11 or $12) and that was delicious! It wasn't oily and the flavor really soaked into the noodles. The broccoli was also soft in texture. Eggs lightly covered the entree. If I could re-order, I'd order a pad see ew all for myself!Restrooms were very clean, nice ambiance, service wasn't bad given the situation, and prices were higher than expected, but I'm guessing little competition in the area. I probably won't be back.
Unfortunately after my experience tonight, Birdseye is no longer a go-to restaurant in Encinitas/Leucadia. Our party of 4 was initially told that we would have a 45 minute wait, but this turned into a 1 hour and 45 minute wait. The owner wasn’t apologetic at all and the food portions have also decreased dramatically. Spend your money and time elsewhere.
Food was good, nice small spot, a bit expensive and small portions, waiters could have been a bit nicer but not a bad spot if you want a healthy small dinner.
Very comfortable atmosphere. The food and service are spot-on. Everything you could ask for in regards to an enjoyable lunch.
Food was delicious!
Damn. Used to love this place, but customer service took a huge dive. Good luck!
Pretty nice. Been here twice. They clearly have some good talent in the kitchen. Food was not perfect, yet was fast flavorful and interesting. Pictures is the Tom Yum shrimp.
Excellent Thai food, probably the best in North country. All the ingredients taste fresh and delicious especially the veggies. I tried the spring rolls, curry, and the basil rice all were very good, but the basil rice was my favorite. The mix of spice and basil flavor is only rivaled by my other favorite Thai place, Bahn Thai. They also carry some local beers most being Duckfoot brewery.
The Thai basil was delivered in a timely manner. It looks like the chef put his/her heart and energy into making this dish call out. And when I finally answered the call the taste wouldn't allow me to put the fork down, the way the sauces mixed with the Jasmine rice just makes you want to scream out for seconds and even thirds.
Had such a wonderful waitress! She brought us a yummy ice cream treat on the house! Pad Thai, spring rolls, and chicken tum Ka is to die for. Service was excellent, this gem is one of the best Thai places I’ve been to yet. Don’t forget to order some mango with sticky rice now that it’s in season!
Awesome Pho dishes. Great experience. If you haven't tried Pho, I highly recommend it. I had never tried it and was hesitant, but so glad I did. Will be back often.
Third time dining here, and the food is amazing! Cozy warm atmosphere, with some seats opening up just as arrived at 8:15p, so we were seated promptly. Service is friendly, fast and attentive, too!
Great flavours and good quality food with the best gelato to end the evening. Must try the beer Lao.
Really enjoyed our takeout. We will be back and highly recommend.
Hot fresh pad Thai served at exactly the heat I asked for! Beautiful noodles with juicy pork and a side of chopped peanut. So delicious! Laotian beer was very sweet but went well. Comfortable seating and lovely quick service!
Can't even get a simple one dish order right. Next time you acknowledge you got the order wrong provide a discount if the customer if they are taking the dish home that they did not order. Nobody is happy in this situation.
Best Thai/Vietnamese spot in North County, or possibly all of San Diego! The ladies that work here are always super sweet and accommodating, and the food is as authentic as it gets. You will not be disappointed!
Super tasty food and an amazing waitstaff. Really like the vibe and the food.
I only review when meals/experiences are incredible or horrendous. Unfortunately, our experience at Birdseye fell into the horrendous category. We purchased our meals to go, so I cannot comment on service. The servers seemed reasonably nice when we picked it up. However, we’ve agreed that, in the end, this was certainly the worst Thai food we have ever purchased. This is coming from individuals who eat Thai food multiple times a week, whether we cook it or dine out. The Chow Fun was a gelatinous mess that lacked flavor, while the Curry Noodles was a watered down curry poured over overcooked noodles. We ordered both with fried tofu, which ended up having a very soft and undesirable texture. Bottom line: folks pay hard-earned money when dining out and should expect a quality product in return. Spend your money elsewhere and leave more satisfied. Check out this photo of the Chow Fun...
Tasty Thai food served quickly with good service. Had the yellow curry chicken and shrimp pad Thai. Both really good. Would recommend this place.
The yellow curry is a must try! Eat here like once a week, great service consistent meals and Mary's chicken! Hard to find an awesome Thai place that cares about sourcing.
I will start by saying I never ever write reviews but after eating at Birdseye Kitchen I felt compelled to do one. They were very patient and understanding over the phone when I was placing my order and didn’t know the exact name of the dish I wanted. The food was done fast and packaged with extra care to insure it wouldn’t leak. The food itself was the best Thai food I have had and I can’t wait to eat there again.
Great fresh and tasty food!
Your first clue is that this could be a great dining experience? The wait! Get there early or enjoy coastal weather and people. Be prepared for an excellent dining experience, service is right there with the food, excellent....
Great little SE Asian restaurant with noodles, curry, and fried rice. I had the house fried rice with chicken which was really good, my wife got some sort of curry noodle bowl that was also really tasty. If you don't like spicy food, order pretty low on their heat scale of 1-10. I got mine at a 4 and I was definitely sweating by the end of my meal. They have beer and wine, but not a full bar.
I love this place very much. theres a different air. The food is exeptionaly good. the service is powerful and the crew is courteous. The pay is reasonable. I definitely recommend.
We eat here at least once a week. We love it! The food is fresh, clean and delicious. The staff is fast, efficient and friendly. Try the pineapple fried rice with grilled shrimp; it’s our Go-To-Fave!!
Tried two curry dishes, 9 and 10/10 for flavor. Restaurant's a bit Spartan, bathroom was matching. Service was adequate. Will definitely go back ... Probably regularly 👌
I tried this place in the past with my friend and I am addicted ever since. I like the fantastic atmosphere and delicious food and drinks. Fantastic work.
10/10 I have been going here for a year and love it so much. The pho is out of this world (grass fed beef and organic free range chicken). The broth is not too salty, lots of flavor! I have faith that the food I get is healthy and high quality. The salmon curry is insanely delicious! Its sweet, flavorful, the salmon is cooked to perfection!
Open air, welcoming hospitable space for us Downtown New York City-ers!!! Wonderful meals--got the cashew dish--sounds of Leucadia, Encinitas, way down south SoCal! We just blew in from the Inland Empire (San Berdinoo, Chino s, Walnut), and the breeze combined with the was a perfectly combo!!
My favorite Thai food in North County. It’s ALL good!!
The food, vibe and service at this place is 10/10. I'm very fussy when it comes to asian cuisine, but Birdseye Kitchen meets my standards. The soup broth has so much flavour. Highly recommend trying the Chicken Pho. Thanks guys. I'll be back.
This spot constantly delivers. They have fresh dishes for reasonable pricing, there are no long waits even when the place is packed.
Waited 50 min, paid 40 dollars for 2 orders of curry and ended up with a smashed main dish and an overall frustrating experience. Both Currys were the same spice level and one was much spicier which was inconsistent. The serving size is much smaller than the jumbo containers at Pad Thai (which is also less expensive). I ate here 2 years ago and had a much better experience with the food, service and consistency. The Panang did have a good flavor but not many vegetables despite being put at the bottom of the bag. The yellow curry was a little too spicy to determine the flavor but could have used more meat. They had one nice woman at the front trying to do everything despite a busy day. In my opinion phone orders should be cut off when the line is out the door to get people in and out amidst the coronavirus. This would ensure a safer environment and better quality of care and food.
The drunken noodles are delicious but a tad bit pricey. Their yellow curry and spring rolls aren’t bad either but their Tom kha is awful. Only what 3? pieces of shrimp and a gang of mushrooms, no other vegetables. That dropped this place down a star but otherwise the food is overall delicious and atmosphere is pleasant
Great food, quick service.
